Go SLI?

Go to solution Solved by nsyedhasan,

Hello!

I'm thinking about getting another graphics card..

I currently have an ASUS GeForce GTX 660Ti 2048MB DirectCUII TOP (swedish website were i bought it: http://www.inet.se/produkt/5405140/asus-geforce-gtx-660ti-2048mb-directcuii-top)

I think about buying this one: ASUS GeForce GTX 660 Ti 3GB DirectCU II OC

Should i buy another gtx 660 ti and go SLI or should i buy a new one like 770 or should i wait and buy another graphics card later?

I'm currently playing Battlefield 3 and 4, cs:go and a game called A.V.A

If you can get good money for your 660Ti then go for something like GTX 780 if you can stretch for it.

I'm always going to go for a higher performance single card over two lower end cards. Less compatibility problems and more consistent performance.

Why would you want to SLI a 2GB card with a 3GB?

I threw another 670 in my rig recently, and it blows the roof off. Actually happy i did this, rather than going for less performance with a single 770/780

The general consensus is to go for a single more power GPU setup but 660 Ti SLI scales excellently in every game I've played (with one exception) and there's nothing wrong with it. 660 Ti SLI will give you more performance immediately than a 770 or a 780 would but at the cost of performance down the road as the only reasonable way to get more performance later would be to upgrade anyways. If you can find another 660 Ti for a good price I would get it and roll with it for another 2 years or so and then upgrade. By then you could save up more than enough to get any high end single GPU that you want. Keep in mind that you need to have a powerful enough PSU for SLI, 660 Ti's pull about 150w each so take that into account if you decide to get another 660 Ti.

I hope you are buying it used, otherwise it's silly to spend money on a last gen graphics card. I bought mine used for a good price. (My 2 x 670 is equal to half the cost of a 780)

FYI, i run one card from ASUS and the other from EVGA. :P

Yes, but my color scheme is fucked up already. Running HyperX blue ram on my ROG mobo with different GPU's. I shouldn't be allowed to own a desktop.
