CPU heatsink vinyl wrap safe?

Is it safe to vinyl wrap the top part of my Hyper 212x heatsink? Only the top part I'm not hampering any airflow whatsoever. There's just too much silver and it's messing with my color scheme. Or should I just put some painted acrylic with double sided tape on top of it.

Vinyl wrapping the top isn't a problem, but may be difficult to get nicely cut around the heatpipes. A simple coat of spray paint while masking off the lower section wouldn't be too hard to do.
