Hello,

I recently aquired two 128Gb SSDs to match my current one, when I later decided I wanted a 256Gb drive to partition in half via my motherboard's on-board RAID controller, to then RAID (0) separately with each of my 128Gb drives. This would give me two 256Gb drives to stripe together in windows, but then I realized, after ordering the drive, I can't install Windows onto a drive in RAID via windows, can I? Would it be possible to stripe the drives on one PC, and move them to the other without desturbing the partition? Would they even be recognized in the BIOS? If not, what would be my best plan of action for the 3 or 4 drives? I believe I want to have a 128Gb drive left over to put in my second computer, but if someone knows of a way to maximize my performance with all 4, I'd be very interested in hearing it, and might just have to buy another drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I recently installed windows on a a raid 0 setup that was configured with disk manager in windows.

For me my bios reconized the drives as a raid config so i gave it a go and had only one issue for whatever reason my drive being a gpt disk rather then a MBR and my mobo has issues with uefi, what i did is partition my raid 0 with a small partition for OS then others for my files and games

it worked so if you have the data backed up and the bios is showing the drives in raid then give it a go.

Sometimes when you have a RAID 0 you have to have intel drivers or AMD drivers to allow it to work. Intel has Rapid Storage Technology drivers that are used. Got to your motherboard's support page, download the RST or AMD RAID drivers, and there is a section for drivers. Put them onto a flash drive. When Windows pops up asking for drivers, browse to the drivers on the flash drive, select them and let windows do its thing. Afterward, you can install onto RAID 0. Done it many times in the past with no issues.

Huh, that's great to hear, I guess I'll have to give it a go then, thanks.

I've downloaded Intel RST drivers before, but are you saying I should download them from my motherboard's support page? Or other drivers that are motherboard specific?

They are generally chipset specific. Intel has a habit of hiding stuff. The ones you have SHOULD work fine. Otherwise, grab them from the motherboard's support page.
