Android - How to Switch Microphones?

I own a OnePlus 6T and I can't find a way to switch microphones between my smartphone's and the poor mic on my earbuds that it automatically switches to. At least not without unplugging the earbuds entirely. Is there any way to do this or an app that does it?

Thanks in advance,

DKL

I've got a 6T as well (McLaren Edition to be exact), and a friend with a regular 6T.

As far as we know, there is no way to switch between the two; only to unplug your earbuds (if using wired).

We both own the OnePlus Bluetooth Bullets, so it's a bit easier to switch back and fourth.

I'm not aware of any proper system level sound control in Android like Windows has for picking the active input and output device.  Huge oversight imo, but it wouldn't be the only one.  As workaround would be to plug your combo cable into a splitter and then only plug the headphone part into the phone.  It should detect it as not having a mic and not try to switch.

So no one has even been able to program anything to do this? ?

the apps need todo this themself.

The api works this way, or you have root. I think there could be a way to switch it. Atleast over config files of alsa

Yeah but by default the app would switch to the plugged in or bluetooth connected earbuds' mic. I'd prefer for it to only ever use the phone's mic.

which app you need this?

Um... all? Mainly Discord and standard calling.
