so i lent my usb drive to head of HR at the company i work for so he could transfer some files from the server to his PC, ever since i got it back it doesnt work at all ( Lesson learned to NEVER lend anything to co-workers )

okay so im trying to see if there is a chance to save the drive or not ( i have the files that were on it backed up on 2 other usb drives and the Cloud ) so i dont care if the way to fix it would erase everything thats on it.

im uploading a picture of the drive and what i see at Disk management in the hopes that someone out there could help me ( its cheap to replace but im too lazy to actually go and buy a new one )

Pop the drive open and see if the PCB looks like it has been bent and/or if some of the solder-joints have come loose. The dumbo probably was a bit too rough with the stick and bent it while putting it into a USB-slot or taking it out of one, and that could cause the PCB to bend and the solder-joints on either the USB-connector itself or the NAND-chip to come loose.

Maybe your coworker unplug it while its still writing data.

You can "wiggle" it to make perfect contact.

Its seems that the pc doesn't recognize the drive.

Have you tried it on other device (non pc) like a media player?

The device maybe recognized, but the flash unit can be corrupted, Flash disks are not the most reliable thing.

You can also bring it to another coworker with different OS, like MAC just to try to format it.

i still have a 8 years old USB 2.0 flash drive working perfectly well ( was using it as my main usb drive ) till i got this one and then retired that drive and turned it into a Win10 O.S Drive lol
