Hi LTT!

I'm curious if an SSD would help an older PC become faster for office work. Right now we have an old HP server-ish PC that due to it's age behaves slow, really slow, but not bad. Would swapping the HDD with an SSD do the work? I saw a video of JayzTwoCents swapping an older laptop HDD with an SSD and it did behave quite different (in a good/fast way) so I'm asking here to be cost efficient.

The current PC has a Xeon I'm not right sure which one now (but for sure 10+ years old), 16gb ddr3  (maybe even ddr2 but I have to check it tomorrow), and that't pretty much it. Including an SAS adapter for SAS drives... Even the curent HDD is a SAS drive

Definitely! An SSD can bring life to an older computer. Tasks such as opening programs will be more responsive.

SSD is a must or else you bottleneck your system.

It should help a lot. Besides, SATA SSDs are dirt cheap these days.

it will decrease boot times and load times of anything that has to be loaded from the hard drive into RAM, so HELLF FUCKING YES it makes a difference, it's a REQUIREMENT to have an SSD if you have Windows 10 in my book. I've done it to several older and lower end computers, it makes them feel signifigantly faster, it won't be like dropping in an i7 but it will be noticeable across the board, especially on systems with low RAM, in fact nowawdays I suggest people spend the money on an SSD over RAM for older computers (partly because down the road you can move the SSD over to a new computer)

DO IT, DO IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

SATA drives (with the correct adapter cable can be connected to SAS backplanes (you can't go SAS drive to SATA port though)
