If you don't know how to update bios, safe solution is to buy B450.

But if you have access to people with the skill, like a pc service shop, you can ask them to update it for you.

It's not very hard, it just takes a USB stick and a YouTube guide

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Keep in mind that if the board does not come with the correct BIOS, you will require an older 1st gen Ryzen chip and a GPU or a Bristol Ridge APU to update the BIOS. The B350 Tomahawk doesn't have any CPU-less BIOS flash capabilities.

That's where AMD's handy dandy boot kit comes in, and all you need is proof of purchase.

Would you mind explaining the whole thing, like what the boot kit is, and stuff

So, on AMD's website you can have a CPU sent to you that's compatible with first gen motherboards, it's their cheapest CPU. Then, once you update the BIOS, they have you send it back.

https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100

See the bottom, short term processor loan. Although if you have a PC shop, it's probably more convenient to have them lend you a CPU. This isn't always the case, so I usually make people aware of the boot kit.

You really don't need to ask this kind of question if you have a service center nearby.

Getting the Boot Kit it's a long process.
