Should I get a second dimm for my laptop?

Hi everyone,

I have been trying to decide whether I should get another dimm for my laptop in order to get dual channel and 16GB of RAM. I have been trying to decide whether to do this as I have alot of stutter in games and bad frametimes in games such as GTA V, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Farcry 5, and Battlefield 1 and I have heard people say that dual channel can help to alleviate this on some laptops. The only problem that I have come across is that only 1 of the 2 RAM slots is available to change with the User upgradable door on the laptop (Any further disassembly voids the warranty) and I want to know to what degree would I need to match the current 8GB dimm and if you had any recommendations and I would also like to know whether you think that this is worth it at all to do? The laptop is an Asus FX503VM-EN184T with an i5-7300HQ, 8GB 2400MHz DDR4 and a 1060 3GB and I have attatched the memory specs of the current dimm from aida64 below:1527251937_LaptopMemorySpecSnip.PNG.895bc583336e282d7c66c9eb6a76b97e.PNG

Any recommendations of RAM to buy ideally from Amazon would also be appreciated along with any advice you have.

TIA

Yeah you should get one. Dual channel = more performance. And 3GB VRAM will not be an issue anymore after upgrading

Match the frequency and timings when choosing the RAM (brands don't matter much). In this case 2400MHz CL17

Just want to check that this is fine it is 8GB and 2400Mhz and is CL17 on the latency and I also made sure the Rank Organisation was the same as the original ram which it is as it is single rank just want to know if you think it will be fine. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-CT8G4SFS824A-PC4-19200-SODIMM-260-Pin-x/dp/B01BIWKP58/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1551374654&sr=8-3&keywords=2400mhz+cl17+ddr4+8gb
