Z370 Strix monoblock reviews? (Monoblocks in general)

I was wondering if anyone had any links to reviews of the above monoblock or any reviews in generals which show if a monoblock is worth the extra cost?

VRM's generally don't need much cooling. The only ones that could really benefit from it are bottom-tier trash mobo's you shouldn't buy anyway (and don't get monoblocks made for them) . 

 

If it's worth it for looks? That's up to you man.

I've got a Z370-G and im thinking about getting a 9900K and i've noticed allot of reviewers mention the VRM getting hot but in the same breath they also mention the memory controller stopping it getting past 5.2Ghz...

Z370g is probably not the best mobo to run 9900k, the vrm on this board is not that great. If you already have 8700k there is no much point to upgrade to 9900k unless you are using you pc for cpu heavy multithreaded applications. If it is for gaming you better spend money on gpu. The only place you can have 8700k causing buttleneck is in 1080p gaming using a rtx2080ti

Quite vague, the 8700k can have issues without using that card. Very game dependent. 

 

But id get a better board. That isn’t my go to brand either.  But the block performs as any of them would. Better than air and can help overlclocking assuming it’s direcr related to heat.

I'm using the EK monoblock on my x299 rig. Keeping the VRM extra cool is mainly something you only care about for overclocking. On some really good boards their factory heatsink setup is fine, but i prefer peace of mind that I won't run into thermal issues at all.
