new graphics card not working

Go to solution Solved by darkshdwz,

Connection of pci cable was loose to psu, replugged it in and it worked

So I just built my first pc and turned it on installed windows and I go to install my drivers and it tells me that I don't have a Nvidia card. So I checked my task manager and my pc was using the integrated graphics. I'm pretty sure I installed my card correctly. (my graphics card is an msi rtx 2070 armor 8g). Sure enough when I tried connecting my hdmi from my graphics card instead of from my mb, I didn't get an output. I really hope my card isn't dead. What can I do to try to fix it?

Shutdown system and power it on with the display connected only to the video card. Otherwise your BIOS might have set display out to only be onboard video.

How would I change it from the onboard graphics in the bios? Like what section would I find that in? I have an msi mb

You'll have to see yourself, not all BIOS's are the same

Take the tour

Just in case you haven't yet, double-check the PCIe power cables are plugged securely into your GPU. Do its fans ever spin on boot-up?

I tried unplugging them and replugging and no change. The fans don't start - it acts as though it isn't powered on.

the fans should at least spin up when it starts. make sure it is securely plugged in to the pcie lane and the power cables are fully plugged int
