Wait, does that mean there's stronger LAN connection with the ultimate version or something?

Not necessarily.

While yes, 10 gigabit is faster than 1 gigabit.. Your device on the other end (switch, router, modem, etc.) also has to support that speed; which most network equipment does not support. Not much of an advantage for most at the moment (unless your name is Linus and you employ 10 editors xD)

Furthermore, the Ultimate board has two gigabit LAN ports (as in it has a gigabit LAN port.. Two of them. Not 'two gigabit', but two ports that run at gigabit speeds.. just wanted to make that clear). This can be helpful if you want to have your PC on your normal network, but also have it hardwired to a NAS or other network storage solution.

The 'normal' version of the board 'just'  has a single gigabit port, which is completely normal to have.

Know the difference between the normal and Ultimate version?

Here is the compare list from AsRock:

https://www.asrock.com/mb/compare.asp?Models=Z390 Taichi Ultimate,Z390 Taichi

Simply put:

10Gb LAN + 2 gigabit LAN ports on the ultimate vs. 'just' one Gigabit LAN on the normal one. Also MIMO support... if you wanted to use WiFi.

The ultimate also has a power and reset button.

Thanks for clearing that up! Now I know which one I'm getting.

I'm not smart enough to set up a NAS system plus, I wanted to save money anyway. :D
