Camera Tips for B-roll

Some tips for B-roll the new camera man!

Try using a Tripod and once its setup right don't touch the camera until Linus starts talking about a object of importance, no need to keep linus in the shot 24/7.

and please don't zoom in and out constantly i feel like i need glasses all of a sudden

just please try not to play so much with the camera let Linus do the walking and talking and moving as much as possible

if any one else has tips for B-roll please post them here!

they are tips as the topic title states its pretty stupid to interpret them as negative and bashfull comments

they are meant to improve B-rolls camera skills

there is NOTHING wrong with giving him tips as he needs them

i dont want him to go away or anything i just want him to get better at his job

btw: you want us just to sit and look at the current vids?

no... it would mean that people are going to stop watching linus videos if this keeps up

you know what if Linus techtips ACTUALLY had a feedback forum (which i suggested back when the forum just came up) then i would GLADLY post in there.

I just think its humiliating for someone if people are posting critisism all over a public forum, constructive critisism is great, but i dont like the way your going about it.

My tip for b-roll is not related to camera work.

My tip is for him not to read any of the YouTube comments because holy crap their are some mean people!

I do feel really bad for the guy. He'll get better in time :)

if b-roll didnt ask for tips then the guys are right saying your being a bit off.

in fact you would have probably gotten less hassle if you weren't so passive aggressive in the way your dressing your own criticism up as advice for him and then having the cheek to ask others to join in with your sniping.

your also forgetting each vid is a team effort. yes b-rol and slick do the cam work but some 1 else cuts it together (dezel the intern i think) so b-roll isnt entirely responsible for the end product.

Yes definitely calm down everyone. The mods have been very kind up until now, but the cracks are beginning to show, I wouldn't push them.

There have been numerous threads about B-rolls camera work, just being perfectly honest, I don't think we need another. I left a few comments on certain aspects of his camera work in those threads, but I'm sure it's stuff he already knows, he hasn't been around for that long so nerves are bound to play a big part...threads like this don't help.

I'm positive he knows what a tripod is, look at the TechQuickie work, they know exactly what they are doing. They have to shoot a lot of unboxings a day and because of the rate at which they have to pump them out the camera work is bound to suffer. Just reitterating what I said in the other threads but the FS700 is not a great camera for the unboxing side of things due to the super 35mm sensor creating a very shallow DOF.

Improvements could be made, but I'm sure the team know how to go about it.

my tips where serious not meant as trolls i clearly stated in the first post NOT MEANT AS NEGATIVE POST so there is NO aggressiveness meant or in it why do people feel the need to attach emotions to a post sole meant for TIPS stop posting your feelings and opinions on this thread its not meant to be for that and its definitely NOT meant for trolling
