So I had my iphone's data recovered after i broke it by taking it apart, but that's beside the point.  I had the files transferred to a flash drive, but the company who did it but the backup files on the drive, not like actual files.  Please explain to me how I'm supposed to recover the data from these files types, whether it be through iTunes or something.

Usually you will have a single folder that would need to be completely copied over into the mobile sync folder on your PC for iTunes to then recognize it as viable backup. A bit odd why yours are broken down so far into individual files like that. usually you get something like this and then subcategories inside that folder that hold the files you have.

Image result for mobile sync location

C:\Users\"USERNAME"\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

If your data is in this state, there is no way to restore it. Data recovery is photos and videos and whatever else is view able in the file system, not whatever these people did.

If you wanted to be able to restore from a backup, is has to be through a backup file. This data is all gibberish, sorry.

You should have been using iCloud or iTunes to make regular backups, especially before tinkering around.

Well they gave me the option of a usb backup or an icloud backup so I guess I thought this one would just be a backup transferred to a usb, but I think they had to unzip it to do so which makes it unusable.  I can just go back and get the icloud backup, it's just a hassle

If they made an iCloud backup it would be associated with an AppleID, presumably yours. They might have a local backup file but they gave that to you but some genius uncompressed it, it and now its useless. If they made an iCloud backup you should check your iCloud and see what backups are in there.

Local backup files are usually pretty straight forward, once the collective file is put in the mobilesync\backup folder iTunes will give you the option to restore from that backup but in this case since it looks like they might have broken it down further so it may be a bit different. For example in that photo previously those are 4 separate backups, where you would find the files that you have on hand is inside an additional folders of those.

May be best to try and see if you can get an iCloud backup if that is a possibility.
