Hi folks fairly new to PC, just built my first gaming pc after playing console for years and my children aged 4 and 7 always want to jump on and play something, I am just wondering is there some way to set my desktop to like a child friendly desktop with a few select games i choose for them and a shortcut straight to youtube kids without me having to watch over them (scared they will end up deleting files or something lol) im really new to pc so take it easy on me please.

If you are on Windows 10 the best option is to create a Family account and set your children as such.

That way they will have their own login and own desktop. You'll get a report of what they are doing and if you want you can set times and duration of PC usage.

Its possible to lock them down to the apps you allow, but in my own experience just telling them what they can and cannot do is better then just blocking it.

Site wise i would block everything besides what u allow as its easy to end up at sites you do not want them to visit.

Mind you these setting only work on Edge and IE. Chrome needs some adjusting to work like that, i think you need a plugin for that.

I didnt realise you could do that on windows thank you ill get on to it now and i use chrome so ill google a plug in aswell thanks

Take your time for it, especially the Family account will take some time to setup. You will need a Creditcard for age verification or it will take a few days for alternate methods.

There is also a program called Cold Turkey that can block both programs and sites. It can do it on a schedule if you pay for it. And you can't uninstall it to turn it off.

I don't know if it has a "block everything except these" feature tho, as I haven't used it as that.
