I recently got a gddr5x version of the GTX 1060 6gb. I went to overclock and found that heaven benchmark crashes at around +240mhz so left it at 180mhz to be on the safe side. However, when increasing memory clock it didn't crash or show artifacts once so I was able to max out the slider at +1000mhz. I have only increased power limit and did not touch voltage at all. Is this normal for gddr5x 1060s and if so is it safe to run this speed all the time? Did I just get lucky with the silicon lottery?

how high did the core and memory clock reach in games?

I can do 1000+ MHz on my 1080, so i assume it's normal. But in my testing the increase in memory makes no difference in real world performance

Welcome to the LTT forums!  Wow.... I honestly have no idea how that is stable.... unless you did not push apply.... And yes as long as you do not touch that voltage slider it is safe to run the GPU at those speeds. (though it may wear out the GPU a little bit sooner, but by that time, you would probably want to replace it anyway.
