If the pins are bent, bend them back. If they broke off the board, you're SOL. You'll need a new socket or new board.

One can try straightening the bent pins, but replacing missing pins in a socket is a pita (replacing the socket that is). Some pins might be unused or redundant so if such a pin is missing it might still work.

I think what he saw is the ridges in between the pins?

That picture is useless, quality and resolution is way too low. Doesn't look damaged to me on first glance but there could be two areas that look a bit weird (bottom middle and top right) but it's impossible to tell on this picture. If you haven't pulled a Linus on that board (as in: dropped something straight at the socket) then there's most likely nothing wrong with it.

So annoyingly bent pins in the socket is a warranty void situation. Best you can do is to try straighten them. I recommend using a tooth pick and go real slow and steady. If you break a pin. Go to another room in the house, sit in the dark and cry. Then go back, try the CPU anyway as a bunch of pins are unused, you might get lucky and find it still works.

Bent pins on motherboard might be too complex to fix.

If it's the CPU that has bent pins, I always had great luck using a Credit Card to straighten out every time.
