AVX and games

Go to solution Solved by ruchir_ezio,

It seems that disconnecting and reconnecting the GPU solved the issue for me.

Until yesterday I had been playing Assassin's creed odyssey without any crashes with ease around 40fps on my pc.

Config

i7 4790k

GTX 760

16 gb ram

And after 55 and a half hours into the gameplay the game started crashing on startup. Now I read this on steam, reddit and ubisoft community that these crashes have something to do with something called 'AVX' could someone please explain what it is and that it's pretty clear that my processor did support it but now something has just gone wrong. Fresh installed windows, reinstalled the game, nothing worked.

https://ark.intel.com/products/80807/Intel-Core-i7-4790K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4-40-GHz- your cpu supports Intels AVX2,

try using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) and re install your graphics drivers, also try reinstalling direct x http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=35

could you explain why you think its something to do with AVX?
