Linus' networking icon

Okay so in Linus' latest livestream i saw that his ethernet icon has a little lock on it. Does anyone know what this is? /what it does?

I tought so too, but at least my vpn doesn't make that little lock appear.

(windows does show the vpn when you expand the network icon, but no lock)

That's the OpenVPN icon when its running but not connected to a VPN.  Notice the lock isn't entirely closed.

openvpn is just a client not a service, PIA could offer it's own openvpn configurations

If I recall correctly the PIA client uses OpenVPN itself.
