Hi, i recently got a new pc but i didnt have the money to get a good gpu for it, so i connected my gt 1030 gddr5 to it and im fine with low res and low setting for now but the problem is that my pc is automaticlly shutting off when i enter a game, like after a minute or somthing less. i tried to change the pc parts with my other pc like the gpu and psu and ram and cpu but i got the same results. i tried to my gt 1030 with my other pc and it worked fine.

the new pc spec:

r7 2700

be quiet 700W

asus rog strix b450 f

3000mhz vengence 16gb (8+8gb)

gt 1030

i just want to get a fix for now untill i get a new gpu

second pc spec:

r5 1600

corsair vs550W

asrock b450 pro4

3000mhz vengence 8gb (4+4gb)

gtx 970 gigabyte g1

Just shutting down or reboot ? If the system is shutting down n rebooting during gaming it is most likely a power issue. Ur PSU might be failing.

Try connecting ur new components to ur old motherboard if u haven't done it already as u didn't mention swapping of motherboard. I had the random reboot and freezing issues few months ago. So I upgraded my PSU now everything is fine. That's why I came to conclusion that PSU is failing.

  • 2 weeks later...

Have you tried the new PSU in the other system with the card? Eliminate the PSU as a problem.

I see Corsair RAM there, in both builds. Are you using the latest UEFI versions on the boards?

feels like a power delivery issue...though you might want to look at settings in UI... I know this will sound rude but was it definately seated correctly? I freaked out for hrs due to an RX580...to suddenly find It was seated against something that stopped it going all the way in

Hmmm. Try reinstalling drivers, remove them first using ddu. If that doesn’t work, it could possibly mean the gpu could be broken. I’d try to get a rma if nothing else seems to work.

Ah yes I did see you say that. This is a very odd situation that the 1030 works on the old system but not the new one, but the other gpus work fine on the new one. I’m at a loss of words. Try to see if it’s being seated properly? Maybe give it a little more force when putting it to 100% make sure it’s good in there. Not too much though :/
