The only thing GoPros are good for are their versatility and their use as an action cam. If you have space for anything larger, don't buy a GoPro.

I have a buddy who uses a G7 and loves it.  I'm not sure if a GH5 is needed or not but G7s aren't bad.

Yes we do, what's your budget? do you have any other equipment? What's your skill and knowledge level around cameras and video editing? Where will you be filming?

If all of these don't matter, i.e. you are not constricted budget wise, have years and years of knowledge surrounding cameras and video editing, DP experience etc. Then go get yourself a RED and Canon's cine lens package for 200K and thats it. Something tells me though that if that were the case you wouldn't be asking us for advice on what to buy.

Some of the best, in my opinion, is the Nikon D5200, D5300, or D5600. They're basically the same thing, does 1080p 60p, and they all have a flip out screen. the reason I listed all 3 is cause sometimes you get a better deal on one, then another.

Hope this helps!

Cheers!

The details are literally EVERYTHING we need.

It's impossible to offer any advise if we don't know what subject, environment, conditions, special requirements, and budget you have to work with.

Price doesn't matter? I suggest you go out and buy an Alexa 65 then.

But I don't think you'll know how to turn it on, much less start recording ?

Help us to help you. We're happy to figure out your best options if you can describe the results you're looking for.
