Hello all, I am new to this community and I am glad to be a part of it. I recently did a complete overhaul of my computer and upgraded my cpu, graphics card, motherboard, and memory. I have been looking online about what are safe temperatures for my cpu but I haven't really gotten a definite answer. As of now my cpu runs about mid to high 30s degrees Celsius while doing basic web browsing etc (I have a Cryorig C7 for those who are wondering). However, when playing games, such as Anthem or the Division I hit temps of about 70 to 75 degrees Celsius. Are these safe temperatures for my cpu, or should I look into reinstalling or upgrading my cpu cooler to be on the safer side? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Those temps are high, but not dangerous. You differently should get rid of that joke of a cooler and get something real.

Welcome to LTT community btw.

70 to 75 is pretty good. If you start seeing some throttling, then we can talk  (but there wouldn't be damage right away, and it would be in the ~100° range). I'd say you're set. Game on

Those temps are normal.  Your CPU can go up to 100c I believe then shut off the computer to save the processor from death.  Your idle temps are great and normal and load temps are normal.  Although you usually want 75c on full 100 percent load like a stability test with Aida64 and what not.

anything under 85 is fine, i recently noticed the newer game during loading screens, instead of actual game play puts the cpu close to 100%, such as anthem, division, apex.

I have the i5 8600 non-K and I idle around 35-40C on the package and load up to 70C during benchmarking, normal workload puts me in the mid 50s at least.

I have a BeQuiet Pure Rock Slim, only 90mm fan! I am also in a toasty room with an ITX case...

I think you are fine, you can get those temps down but only if you need the headroom for overclocking.

Welcome to LTT community btw.

nothing wrong with the C7 as a SFF cooler, especially since the price came down.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Personally, I would have gone with a beefier cooler with a k chip.

I don't know if you are indeed in a tight mini itx or just chose that cooler. Those temps are fine, but I expect in a stress test you will reach throttling temperatures.

An alternative to increasing cooling (if you want to overclock) you can delid and keep your smaller quiet cooler and still overclock.
