I have had my current GPU for 5 years now and I would like to upgrade it.

CURRENT : i7 4790k and HIS IceQ R9 280X

I am leaning towards either a 1060 6gb or an rx 580 8gb.

CURRENT OPTIONS:

- GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1060 WINDFORCE OC 6GB ($330 at Canada Computers until thursday)

- MSI Radeon RX 580 8GB ($320 at newegg.ca with 2 free games)

- Sapphire Radeon Nitro+ RX 580 8GB ($320 at newegg.ca with 2 free games)

Please help me decide which one I should get out of these (or if you have other suggestions please let me know). My budget is around $400 Canadian but I would like the best bang for buck. I don't play too many games, right now just apex legends but I would like to be able to play 1080p comfortably. I am leaning towards the 1060 based upon reviews stating it is more stable and reliable that the 580. Please give me your thoughts and suggestions. Thanks.

Of those three, the Nitro 580 would be my choice.

I'd also look at the RX 590, the upcoming GTX 1660 or some used RX 480/580, maybe even an R9 390(X) with warranty.

Wow, he has a ton of choices and decisions to make lol.  Lets ask him at what resolution he wants to play at.  For 1080p which Im assuming he does then yes the nitro RX 580 will do great and especially if his CPU is overclocked.  If he wants a 590 then can he do 1440p with that card ? Enlighten me.

I will mainly be playing at 1080p and I am looking to get a 144hz monitor. My CPU is not overclocked but im not opposed to it. The only worry I have with AMD is that their cards seem to get a ton of bad reviews online.
