Hello there!

So for a long time now i have had a lot of problems with my pre-built Lenovo Y720 Cube.

I got it around 2017.

The specs for it are:

GTX 1070

i5 7400

8 GB RAM

1 TB HDD

i've also put in the 1 TB HDD from my old system, they both seem to be same brand.

In pretty much all games now, i experience major frame skips. It wasn't like that when i got it though. I used to be able to play Overwatch with no problems whatsoever. Now, when i join a match, zero models are loaded, nada. It takes about 5 minutes just for one of the models to pop up, yet a big majority of them are still invisible. In War Thunder, a game that requires not a whole lot of power, i can be cruising around with a tank, for then to be pointing the other way after a 1-2 second long frame skip. In PUBG when i land, none of the buildings are loaded. All of the buildings are a bunch of 2D textures. If i somehow manage to find the entrance, then i would get inside, but bug around. For a long time i could play Fortnite fine, yet around a month ago, the same problem i had in PUBG, appeared in Fortnite. There seems to be very few games i actually can play now without frame skip (luckily the "virus" hasn't spread to AOEII)

I have absolutely no idea what could be causing this. Some friends have said it could be because of the massive amount of files i have, yet i don't believe that (pictures of my drives. E: and F: are the same drive, for some reason it was formatted like that in my old system, couldn't be bothered to change it.)Drives.JPG.8bd0b18fac8a680cbcd973f78273d848.JPG

My system also had a period, where it would crash a few minutes after windows boot. One time, i had to force shutdown my computer 5 times before it stopped. I still have about a month left to return it for not working properly. I need to know if i should do it, or if i can just mess around a bit with my system to fix it.

Thanks in advance!

Check the health of the drives. I'd recommend Hard Disk Sentinel.

Also, where's your SSD?

What do you expect with 8GB RAM and a Hard Disk Drive.  Grab 16GB RAM and a SSD and your problems might go away.

Well you see, i thought the exact same thing, except my motherboard is some f**ked up shit Lenovo had to smoke crack to make.

There's 2 ram slots, only 1 filled. Fine i think, i'll order one. I find some Corsair RAM that looked nice, i check everything to make sure it'll fit in a standard motherboard. Order it. 1 week later it comes. I open the box, i am literally jumping. For the first time in my life i will have 16 GB ram. The masterrace. I plug it in with my other stick. The PC beeps loudly, no display. Hmm, weird. I check if i plugged it in correctly, push it a bit more. Yup, snug fit. Try once more, still nothing. I take out my stick and try again. Yup, still boots with the RAM i already had. I then switch them out, so only the Corsair RAM is in, nothing, still beeps.

I research my stick a bit, turns out it's ECC. Maybe the board somehow only takes ECC RAM??

Now for the SSD..... There's only 2 f**king SATA DATA ports.

excuse me what the frick

I've come to the conclusion, that to upgrade just one of the parts i need to upgrade, i'll have to upgrade more parts at the same time. I swear to god the motherboard is pure Meth or something-

So you might be more knowledgeable about this app than more, the only thing i understand is that the drives seem to be good. Any other things off your mind that i could do?
