So i have a GTX 570 i would like to use in a secondary system and want to know if its possible to save.
I was first going to sell it to a friend but it kept making his system crash eventhough when tested in my own system

it was 100% fine. He then purchased a new powersupply and it seemed like it worked for him but then his pc crashed and

wasnt able to get any picture up. He then gave me the card back and i tested it.
It is not registerred by the BIOS when its in any slot, but the fan is still spinning.

Is there any way of fixing this or is the card just dead?

For something like a GTX570 I wouldnt bother trying a lot of repairs. Just put it in multiple systems to see if it works and if it doesn't you should kick it in the bucket. Get a used 760 instead or even a GT1030 if you really want a second system.

Some would suggest baking the card. Linus and Luis Roseman proved that to be the wrong way. It might bring the card back for a few days/weeks/months but it's not repair.

Well i like tinkering with hardware so if its possible to repair it without costing more than a new equivelant card i would prefer that.

in our first gaming pc at home we had a gtx 560 and that one had the same issues after 3-4 years of use. I think there isnt much you can do and for a card that  came out 2010/11 thats a pretty good lifespan

Yeah its just weird how it randomly dies, it had no artefacting or anything

I would first repaste. A repaste got my Quadro 600 working again.

Yeah i will try to do that aswell, i opened up the shroud and it looks fine tbh.
