Sharp Announces the RW-16G1, a 15.6-inch IGZO, 3200x1800 Windows 8.1 Tablet

Sharp released a new Windows 8.1 tablet. It is called "RW-16G1", a 15.6 inch Windows 8.1 tablet.

 

One outstanding feature about this tablet is the 3200x1800 IGZO screen. Because of this high resolution, it has a 235ppi , higher than that of MacBook Pro. Besides that, it also features an Intel Core i5-4200U processor, 4GB RAM, a 128GB SSD, a Mini DisplayPort, USB 3.0 ports, and an SD card slot. It weights 2.7 lb, 0.5-inch thick, runs Windows 8.1, and has nine hrs of battery life.

 

There is still no info on price , but this tablet will be available in March 2014.

true, still quite a feat, being able to pack all that into something only half an inch thick...That screen is gonna be killer  :) and the battery life seems awesome for something with that much power behind it

Looks great. Will cost a lot though. But for people like my uncle who does engineering drawings on computer it may be great.

Hopefully it has some sort of Wacom pen or other active Stylus suport. only then will it be a viable tool for artists.

well hes not really an artist. he has a program that he uses that has a lot of things pre drawn but he likes using the stylus for dragging the things around. and it shows a stylus next to it in the pic.

I don't think Intel HD4600 can do much at that resolution. :P

It's a very nice piece of technology. That resolution in 15 inches is pretty awesome. I think it needs a more powerful GPU to handle daily task smoothly at that resolution.

For the first time ever I want a tablet.

 

I am in need of a wacom-substitute so if this can fill that need I'm buying it. (If reasonably priced)
