Uuuugh... Eating my Words. Note 8 Battery Drain.

Linus has been mentioning sparratic battery drain on his Samsung devices since the S/Note 8 gen of phones. I was so confident that he was wrong to the point of out right doubting he was actually experiencing any anomaly with the device and simply used his phone more than he was used to. As a Note 8 owner myself, I was sitting pretty high in my own head that I was right.

Then my Note 8 begun exhibiting the same behavior Linus mentioned in his review of the Note 9. My battery is draining roughly 20% more each day than it did last month, and my usage patterns haven't changed. Unlike Linus, I have a warning from my Samsung device (shown by the Samsung+ app, something I would recommend he install on his to see if he has the same issue). It states, "1 Apps Are Using Battery. Security and Privacy."

Security and Privacy is a built in app, and one that will out right ignore commands to force stop or disable (it will re enable itself).

I've been putting off re-flashing my phone with a 3rd party firmware for some time now, because I never had an issue with the Samsung Experience. Is it now time?

I have tried restarting the device, clearing cache, every form of disabling the Security and Privacy app, and checking if the Samsung+ App was bluffing by uninstalling it. All to no avail. Ideas? Suggestions for a 3rd party firmware? I would like one that mimics the Pixel devices.

Yeah I started having this issue on my galaxy S7 back when I had that. Not sure why it drains so quickly. If you want what the pixel devices have, which would be stock android, I would recommend watching the video they did on that really inexpensive phone where they loaded stock android on it, they do a pretty good job showing how to go through that process. I believe the video is called pixel 3 killer or something like that.
