Ah, it's his money, he can do with it what he wants. He shouldn't need his wife's permission to buy a computer. As long as he contributes to the bills (or pays them in full if he is the only person working) then I see absolutely no issue.

 

Went ahead and upvoted him, still think it's silly though.
