Can smart plugs help save money on your electricity bill?

I’m about to move out in a couple of months and would like to save money on my electric bill, any tips?

Well to answer your question - yes. If you set them up to switch off lights when you leave the room/house or turn off your systems entirely instead of having them in standby.

Will they save you more money on your electricity bill than they cost? After a few years maybe, but most likely not.

 

And there's the usual stuff like using energy saving light bulbs and so on

Stop leaving unnecessary stuff turned on. Invest in led bulbs. Smart home control can save you money when setup properly as mentioned above. All relative too though. Even if I’m only saving pennies. The value of my time and piece of mind that I have those things and use them to my benefit are part of the cost or cost savings as well. Can’t just look at the straight monetary value here.
