Using a TV as a Monitor.

Well, when i was using it with my laptop, the integrated graphics made it look ok. I was trying to see if there's anything like that since the integrated graphics was Intel and now im running a Ryzen 5 2400g with a 1060 6gb.

What ur trying to do is downscaling.

You can try to force your GPU to do the scaling but its unlikely to look much better.

Go into NVCP, go to "adjust desktop size and composition",  then select perform sclaing on - GPU.

if it is already set at GPU, try setting to display, see which works best.

Chances are thuogh it wont look good, downscaling rarely looks good when looking at windwos desktop.

Hey guys, first time here after following Linus for a while. I have a bit of a problem so i figuered i'd give it a shot here if you mates dont mind.

So, what happend is i sold my Pc sometime ago, monitor and everything. Now i traded my gaming laptop for a desktop and using my TV as a monitor.

The problem is my Tv's native resolution is 1336x768 and im using 1080p resolution. But when it upscales to 1080p ( i presume its called upscaling ). Everything looks weird like, the colours are darker, the text is kind of weird to read, its not as smooth as on the native resolution.

I can't afford a Monitor at the moment, but when i was using the TV hooked to my laptop, if i would set the resolution from the Intel Integrated Graphics card it would look normal. Now it dosent.

I guess what im trying to ask is, if theres any software i could use to fix  this issue.

Thanks for your time =)

I don't think so, you are using a non-standard resolution on your TV, pushing it past what it can do.

You should use the native 1366x768 resolution. 1080p downscaling is pretty bad on many cheaper TV's and even if it was good it wouldn't look as good as the native resolution when using PC.
