First time build, need some help

Go to solution Solved by AHaskin14,

the 2 fans, should the radiator be touching the case or the fans, also, how do i set up whether i want push or pull, and which should i do (Huge NEWBIE)

If your just going with 2 fans and want to maintain aesthetics then put the radiator against the case and the fans to the inside of the case, not on the outside. You dont want the hot air blowing into your case so look at the fans your using for some tiny little arrows on the side. one of the will point to the direction which the fan spins and the other the direction of the airflow. mount the fans so that they blow through the radiator and out of the case. this setup would be "push". I dont know much between push "or" pull but it will look better this way and you dont risk hitting the radiator fins and bending them if your working on your computer.

I am going to be building a gaming PC. So far I don't know much about specs except that I am going to get a 4930K and a 780 ti. I am going to try to overclock the CPU and I want to get a water cooler for it. What's the best thing you recommend, I am thinking a CM 240L from the channel but I am not sure. I want to over lock it to like 5GHz so it will get hot. Thanks. (Btw) if you could explain the whole push pull thing as well. Like how to configure and what is the best way to cool it. I want the most cooling possible. Thanks

2) This is in the wrong subforum ;) "New Builds and planning" is the place. Nothing to do with it now, but just for next time :)

3) When you have done point 1 we can help you :)

Silicon Lottery, people.  You're never guaranteed a high overclock.

OP:  Don't even think about what your overclocks will be if you don't even have the hardware yet.  You'll need to test your individual chip, whatever it may be, to determine what it is actually capable of.  Some chips will hit higher overclocks, others will not.

Assuming youre placing the radiator on the top of the case, you would have 2 fans on one side of the radiator "pushing" the air through it and 2 on the other side of the radiator "pulling" it theough. It is significantly better performing than if you just had 2 fans  but keep in minde that it will be a very thick setup and you will need lots of room for it. If you go with coolermaster I would reccomend getting all aftermarket fans as the ones it will come with are crap. The best would be Cooler Master SP120 High Performance with a fan controller to keep them quiet when youre not gaming. I cant say as though ive been thrilled with cooler masters quality, try giving corsair a look.

Budget is around $3000 US. Someone talked me out of the 4930K because I am just gaming. I play lots of BF4 and i thought that it is CPU intensive and for that i need 6 cores instead of 4. What is your opinion?

If i am not getting a 4930K i will for sure be getting a 4770K. So if you could tell me if the glacer 240 L from cooler master is enough if it is oc
