So I'm running some older parts kinda like old Cpu new Gpu(new to me) kinda stuff ok (I'll post specs at the end of this post)

So i overclocked my Cpu and it works fine for a while like 4-8 hours then my computer will randomly shutdown then cycle then power on like nothing happened almost like a restart but with no please wait or whatever windows 10 says when restarting and all i wanna know is why this is happening. My overclock was fine for a few days then it did the weird restart thing during a CSGO thing i was like OK?!?!?!?! but it started back up fine so i thought it was my MSI afterburner custom fan curve being weird with my AMD Wattman software because of a pop-up in the bottom right hand corner said a that wattman had encountered an error and had reset my settings (NOTE: I have not touched any of my settings within AMD Wattman) so i was ok one time thing i'll just not use MSI afterburner for my fan curve and i decided to use AMD Wattman instead so i thought ok i should be good now. Then today it happened again and I got a BIOS error saying that AMD Unleash mode has failed (NOTE:I enabled this in the BIOS think it would help my overclocking) press F1 to go to default settings which i pressed. I wanted redemption i opened up AMD OverDrive and did their AutoClock thing and it ran fine for a couple hours then it did the restart thing again so i thought it might be the power options within windows because I had it set to ultimate performance i put it back down to balanced thinking maybe the CPU cant handle be at full clock 24/7 so after I set my power option and came here writing this in case I crash again which I have a feeling it will. But I really don't know why I was crashing and I want some clues as to why

First crash was during CSGO thing (I dont remember what I was doing but i don't think it was during a comp game because i don't remember getting a cool down)
Second crash was during CSGO match (I got a comp cool down from this one but was on an alt)
Third crash was while watching this video https://youtu.be/mOTpArWyaUM (it's a LTT video)

Specs but in texts-
CPU- FX 4300 OC to 4.368
GPU- PowerColor Red Dragon Radeon RX 570
MOBO- ASUS m5a78l-m plus/usb3
RAM- 4X2gb sticks of DDR3
HDD- Two-500gb (OS)One-750gb One-256gb
EXHDD- WB passport 2TB
CPU Cooler- IDK My stock one broke so i pulled one off an old AM3 MOBO and it fits so it sits I haven't seen my CPU temps go over 53c so i think it's working
POWER SUPPLY- EVGA 80+ White 500W

SIDE NOTE: I really only need this computer for another like 4-7 months before I upgrade the CPU,RAM,MOBO

Just now, _d0nut said:

because you have an unstable oc

but why would it be stable for hours while playing games at full load and then just poof
and it isn't just while I'm play games it could happen randomly and with 2 out of the 3 times i didn't get a BOIS screen saying the OC failed surely it would have reset my CMOS or atleast said something as my motherboard does come with those features

So a few questions Back,

Whats your Max Temp with your overclock?

Did you overclock your RAM?

Try a CPU Stresstest for 20 minutes.

If the temps are in Check give it a bit more Vcore.

Jup that should be it at first.

it probably will but I'm being stubborn and i want to know why it was crashing not to really solve the problem

You will need to raise your CPU voltage and what not.

It's called the Silicon Lottery. Some hardware handles being stressed better than others. Marginal hardware might take it at first, but fail later one, others fail immediately

OCing isn't just some "push this button and get 2x the speed", you are stressing parts past their design spec. Sometimes you get lucky...other times you don't.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

People use  a Vcore of 1.35 to 1.4V for 4.4Ghz as i read in other Forums. You should do the same.
