Why do I get 2 Skype pop ups when someone calls?

Why do I get 2 Skype pop ups when someone calls?

The one on the left with the coloured end call, pickup call etc buttons pops up first when I get a call. I THINK that is my installed Skype.. aka normal Skype.

It RINGS quieter than the other one.

Then the one on the bottom right pops up shortly after. It is RINGS louder than the normal one.

What is this mystery Skype? Why are there 2?

I installed Skype and am a new Windows 10 user having come from Windows 7.
I do not want to lose my chat history if that second Skype is some kind of preinstalled Skype that comes with Windows 10 and people are going to say that the mystery Skype is preinstalled so I should remove my installed Skype.

Also searching for Skype in the search bar at the bottom in Windows 10 only results in my installed version showing up. I am not aware of a preinstalled version existing.

Quick google search shows:

https://www.cnet.com/how-to/setting-up-skype-in-windows-10/
BUT there is no such thing as Skype Video, Skype Messaging and Skype Calling apps on my up-to date Windows 10 installation.

One is the call from the person calling you, and the other is the Microsoft employee listening in on your Skype call.

Some say that if you stay on the line long enough after the other person hangs up, you will hear a faint whisper telling you that your PC requires an update and will need to restart.

Which one. I don't understand. You said Skype is bad. Please explain. There are 2 Skype calls that I get from the same person. How can it be Skype notifications calling me?

Just a quick correction:

@Slottr said Skype is bad, not @Spotty.

The two notifications are coming from Skype directly and coming from Windows as a result of Skype integration(left and right respectively).

The other person said Skype was bad, not me. I merely implied it.
Don't mind me. I'm still salty that they ditched MSN Messenger in favour of Skype.

This is why you're getting the two notifications:

I still don't understand. I now see there are 2 Skype icons in the notifications. One has a white Skype symbol and the other a blue one.
Which is the integrated one?

IS there a integrated one? If so why can't I find it?

That article that I linked shows there are 3 Skype  apps as I wrote in my first post. Where are these apps?

Do you have the Windows 10 specific version of Skype installed?

I don't know what that means.

I just went on Skype's website and downloaded Skype and installed it as I have always done.

Windows 10 has a specific version - if I remember correctly, it comes with it. Check to see if they're both running.

If no version comes up when doing a search other than the one you've installed directly, then I'm thinking it's just integration with Windows 10. You can check in the Apps section or Add/Remove Programs to see if anything comes up there. CCleaner can also be used to see if any other Skype version is installed.

The top one is the Windows 10 version based on how the icon looks when I search for it. But it's interesting that the top one was installed at a later date(or so it appears) than the bottom one. I would think that the earlier one would be the Windows 10 version, but perhaps it was starting to be included with later Window 10 versions.

I did NOT install Windows last month. I installed it months ago. No idea why it has that date. Unless that is showing when it was last auto updated?

EDIT: So I uninstalled the 1st Skype on that list dated: 30/01/2019. That has fixed the double Skype issue.

However I have another issue that I forgot to mention.

My Skype is set to busy. BUT despite this, when I get a call it rings and shows me as you can see in the first image I posted that I am getting a call. In the first image my Skype was set to busy but as you can see I was still getting that call thing in the middle of the screen. And of course it rings.

EDIT 2: Here's something interesting. Despite this mine were both signed in....

https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA34694/can-i-sign-in-to-both-skype-apps-on-windows-10-at-the-same-time

Can I sign in to both Skype apps on Windows 10 at the same time?

It is not possible to sign in to both Skype for Windows 10 and Skype for Windows Desktop at the same time. If you already had Skype for Windows Desktop installed, you will have both apps available since Skype for Windows 10 comes built-in to the latest version of Windows 10. However, you can only be signed in to one or the other at a time.

For example, if you sign in to Skype for Windows 10 first, then sign in to Skype for Windows Desktop after, Skype for Windows 10 will sign out and close. The same will happen if you sign in to Skype for Windows Desktop first.

Also, if you shut down or reboot, you will still be signed in to the last app you used. For easier access to Skype for Windows 10, you can Pin it to Start or Pin it to your taskbar.
