casual smartphone user

Hello,

 I finally want to upgrade. I have a Galaxy S2+ for 6 years and the battery still lasts a day which should tell you how casual I use it. I don´t watch videos, play games or other heavy stuff. I just some light work apps, make pictures and browse the web most of the time.

 

I narrowed down my choices:

- used Galaxy S7 from my uncle but I need to replace the screen, battery and unlock it for ~200 € (new 260 €)

- Xiomi Mi A2 is the best pick for my price range with a price of 180 €

 

I could spend more but I see no reason. I plan to use the phone for at least 3 years. Any recommendations?

I'd recommend the (Xiaomi) Pocofone F1. It's a great phone if you don't need NFC and it shoots great quality photos when you use Google Camera (GCam app).

I would say S7 due to the much more powerful hardware than the Mi A2 although LineageOS support for it seems to be all over the place.

Same price as a new S7 and kinda over my budget.

I currently use Android 4.4 so I don´t mind using outdated versions. I don´t purchase stuff with it so I don´t think much about data protection. Only concern would be that I can not run apps from the play store in a few years but I think Android 8 should be fine I assume.

If that's the case, get the Xiaomi A2.

Doesn´t seem to be target for my country because only a few small online have it for 300-500 €
