My modem/router is trash, please help.

Howdy everyone, we recently changed ISPs at my house and they gave us the wonderful Zyxel 3415 modem/router combo, making the router I bought last year useless. My family is generally having zero issues with it, but I can't play on my PS4 Pro or Xbox One X without getting kicked off every ~15 minutes, sometimes more, sometimes less. After running a few connection tests (on the 5Ghz band on my PS4 Pro) band back to back, here's what it looks like

Dwn: 21.3Mbps Up: 65.1Mbps

Dwn: 134.0Mbps Up: 104.0Mbps

Dwn: 114.0Mbps Up: 94.4Mbps

Dwn: 90.0 Up: 125Mbps

Dwn: 155.0 Up: 123.0

Naturally, now that I'm making this post it behaves miles better than it typically does, but it hasn't been uncommon over the last week to watch it drop to single digits and skyrocket to almost 200Mbps over WiFi and somewhere in the middle it boots my PS4 off. The modem/router isn't in a convenient place for me to run an Ethernet cable. I haven't suffered any problems on my PC or Switch on the same WiFi connection, but its difficult to even watch a YouTube video on either of my consoles if I'm taking that route.

Its already to the point where I want to just order a new one, as I play most of my games with my friends on my PS4. Any tips/recommendations are appreciated.

Can't you put the modem/router into modem only mode and go back to using your router?

If you have a router you bought yourself, connect it to the ISP-s one and use it for Wifi etc.

I tried, but that pretty much crippled the speeds of the router.

You could go into your old router and turn off DHCP, and use it's wifi on a different channel to your mode,/router one, just connect it with the network cable, it' will then be basically operating as an access point... on some routers this is even an option in the settings.

Please make sure it's using a different wifi channel, as you'll get problems if not. When you say it crippled your speed, was your modem/routers wifi turned off? as that could make a big difference.
