Why is my CPU usage 100% in CS:GO

Xereth

I recently bought a 1070 to replace my 1050 ti and in CS:GO my Fps used to be 100+ but now with the 1070 it is only 60+. When I checked task manager i found that my CPU usage was 90-100% my CPU is an i5 6600t. Thank you in advance.

It's not the best cpu so csgo is easily maxing it out.

6600t is heavily underclocked... that might be the problem here

Yup, agreed. The 6600T is literally made as an underclocked CPU that uses way less power and generates less heat at the expense of performance.

especially the t's. s series weren't that bad (i have a 4460s personally), but t's are really underclocked

maybe the mobo can fit a 6700/7700 (k?)

But even on medium settings it was 80+

Graphics settings are gonna affect the graphics card a whole lot more than the CPU

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

CS:GO is one of the more CPU intensive games out there. It's not very GPU intensive though.

Should I Increase Graphics settings and decrease cpu settings

yep, you'll probably still be cpu bound, but if it can actually increase framerate, why not?

Plus Overwatch works on max 120+ fps

Overwatch is GPU optimized while CSGO is more CPU optimized. You can't do direct comparisons between games from two different developers.

As you get more fps on cs go the gpu forces the cpu to give out more and more fps thus the game is more cou intensive than gpu intensive
