how to polish keyboard?

StanicEnemy

I have a gaming keyboard that i bought back in 2011, its still working without a problem.
No matter how many times i cleaned it, it doesnt look like clean, there is a layer of dirt on keyboard, how i can polish it?

depends on the type of keyboard, and how far you're willing to go.

some options:

- alcohol

- dishwasher (with or without full disassembly)

- soapy rag

- vareous kitchen and/or household cleaners

- etc..

If you just want to clean the keycaps, just put them in a bucket of soapy water.

if pulling keycaps off a rubberdome you may as well disassemble the keyboard completely, and put the "tray" that holds the keycaps in the dishwasher in one piece.

also, if you do that, put some lube on it afterwards, it'll squeak like cats fighting in a styrofoam fortress.

Spray it with Windex or some other surface cleaner, then wipe it down.

the concept is quite simple: the more agressive of a cleaning solution you use, the less time you'll need, but the more chance something will go wrong.
