New build hard locks, software or hardware?

My new build will lock up randomly sometimes it will be fine for days and sometimes it will lock up after a few hours. The mouse will not move alt delete does nothing only way to get out off is pull the plug. Is this a win 10 issue or hardware?

windows system event log does not really give any info only critical warnings from when i pulled the plug. This is a simple PC that does nothing but act as a file server no OC etc

Only thing i found was this "The start type of the Background Intelligent Transfer Service service was changed from demand start to auto start." around the time the PC locks up.

specs

GIGABYTE B360M D3H

CORSAIR Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB

evo  860 SSD

Air cooled.

BITS is using mostly for updates. It should be set as manual and started on demand. I don't think that it's related.

It may be something with hardware or software, but first focus on hardware (ram settings for example), then drivers.

Also - information WHEN it freezes may be helpful. If while playing games, try to underclock GPU and gpu ram using MSI Afterburner.
