The system as it is now is not worth $130, even if you bought these parts and sold the system it wouldn't be worth $130.

that is very true.

if he really wants a GPU he could pick up an hd 7950 for about 50$ (if he can find one).

but yes i will agree that he should probably save up to a dell optiplex or similar or one of the many xeon build one can do

So i was planning to get a new gpu my current setup is a q6600 OC'ed at 2.55 ghz 6gb of ram MOBO is a ASUS P5N32- E SLI  power supply is a EVGA 450 bronze and current gpu is a r7 240 4 gig model(dont yell at me it was free) and no im not upgrading the rest until collage  but other than that what should be my next gpu? my budget is 100-150 usd and  i play games like garrys mod,the wicher 2,scp secret labatory and gta 5

A 1050Ti would be your best option though if I was in this situation I would just hold off and keep the money for a new build and obviously just add to it over time.

the best combo you can get is the R9 290x for 80$ used (ish) and spend 50$ on a new CX550 (2017) from Corsair

$130.00 all in. Not worth it mate, the OP may as well keep his 100 or so bucks in his pocket and just add to it over time to build a new PC.

i mean its between Rx 570 and rx 580 performance at a lower cost. and he gets a decent PSU. you are going to have a hard time getting more performance in.

used 1060 6GB perhaps.

it also seems like he is going to keep his GPU untill past collage depending on what he is doing.
