Plans for a budget PC

lewdicrous

A friend of a friend wants a gaming/editing PC, I proposed the following lists. Are they good?

Budget: ~$780 max

The main difference between the two lists is the mobo and case

Seeing as he's gonna be using a GPU, would swapping the 2200G for a 2600 be a better choice?

Thanks

I would pick the first option, but swap that case as it is ugly, and as you are using a deticated gpu then yes, the r5 2600 would be better.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Yes, definitely go with the 2600

To save money, this is more in budget, same form factor as your second list:

I'll edit the list when I get the chance, thanks

So yeah, the best way would be to pick out a couple pictures of cases and show them to him, and let him pick the one he likes the most. Also ask if he wants an very small pc, or a large one.

You can make it cheaper by about 60-75$ but have the same performance, just lower tier parts like a Team SSD and a powercolor RX 580

I wouldn't get anything lower than Samsung for the storage, as recovering data from a dead SSD is nearly impossible, you don't want to buy cheap stuff that just fails.

Thats true, but the Team SSD's have been fairly great in my experience. Havent had an issue with any of them

The case and PSU are not much of an issue cause he said he'll buy it from a local store, he's planning to order the rest of the build from overseas, afaik

close closely at the 1070. that's a $100 rebate form for the $300 price. PSU and mobo are also not good.
