My Mobo just failed, so a combo kit upgrade is necesary. The gaming build is a really silent one, and this characteristic must remain with the new build. I game at 1080p@60hz, strategy games (civ6, cities skylines), Skyrim heavy modded, gta5, the witcher 3 and other new titles. I like eye candy, so highest settings possible. I could upgrade for a 1440p@60hz in 1-2 years.

So, what CPU? my budget, while not really limited, goes around these options:

Ryzen 7 2700 (really good price right now, about 10% cheaper then i5 9600k)

I5 9600k

Ryzen 7 2700x (about 20% more expensive than i5 9600k)

I7 9700k (about 25% more expensive than 2700x)

What mobo for each of the cpus? (I don`t OC, but if it is really a key factor, I will learn). Also, what cooler? (I have a Scythe kotetsu 1st version that kept my old i54690 around 65 degrees celsius in gaming).

Ram will be 2x 8gb Vengeance LPX @3000.

Please help me decide the best option for a 4-5 year long term (consider a rtx 3070ish gpu upgrade in aprox. 2 years).

What are the system specs for the one you have right now, if it's just the mobo dies, you could maybe get another mobo instead of swapping all.

My curent build is:

I5 4690 (non k) +scythe kotetsu version 1 cooler

Asrock h97 pro4 (failed)

2x 8gb ddr3 1600

Gtx 1070 gainward phoenix gs

850 evo 500gb ssd 2.5

Seagate 1 tb 7200

Corsair rm750x 750w

Fractal design define r5 (2 fans, 1in 1 out)

About asus mobo. Well in my country is about 220 euros. I thought mobo would go in the range of 150 euros. (i believe the ratio is similar in us). For the intel cpus I thought about gigabyte aorus z370 gaming k3.

I just found an offer for prime x470 pro for around 180 euros. Is it really the best mobo in this range for ryzen?

How much do you plan on spending for the motherboard? While that board is fine, there are other options..

Ryzen 3800X + MEG ACE w/ Radeon VII + 3733 c14 Trident Z RGB in a Custom Loop powered by Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium

Well, yes. This is just my issue. I don't know how much I want to spend on mobo. I know I want a few things:

- not to overspend

- not to underspend, so it must provide enough for the chosen cpu (for example provide enough support for 2700x to maximize pb2 or I7 9700k to OC well)

- must have at least 5 fan controls

- m. 2 nvme support (1 or better 2)

- good audio

Now, ask me and I say no Asrock, as last 2 mobos were Asrock and failed me. Also, frienly bios would be nice, as I have little to none bios experience.

Right now I stand for r7 2700x and i7 9700k. Please advice witch of these 2 should I pic, with a recommended mobo.

Thanks!
