I have an old 32bit mac stuck at osx 10.6.8 is there  anyway for hack it to update the os

The trouble is that's a 32bit CPU, and all (as far as I know anyway) the modern OSX versions are 64bit only, so you can't run anything, the OS won't even install.

You *could* however, run Linux, specifically Ubuntu, on the iMac, I've done it before, and it will allow you to use some more modern...well, less ancient anyway...

Depends on if you are computer savvy or not, this isn't trivial to do.

But I'd start reading here: https://mattgadient.com/2016/07/11/linux-dvd-images-and-how-to-for-32-bit-efi-macs-late-2006-models/

The core duo machines are obsolete as far as first party software is concerned, and have been for a good few years. In theory, there's a OS X Lion 10.7.2 version out there that sort of runs, but it's unstable. A 32-bit Linux distro is your best bet, or Windows. It'll happily run W7 or 10 32-bit. SSD is recommended.

Perhaps, but I know first hand that if you have a Snow Leopard DVD on hand, bootcamp support is irrelevant. The drivers on there can be made to work under 10 without issue, and W7 support is native.

I'm not deeply knowledgeable about the minute details on macs, I was just going on what I'd read. How well does win7 run on those old iMacs, natively?

Pretty well, for what you can expect from two Pentium Ms glued together. It won't comfortably run high def YT videos, but it's enough for browsing and office work. W10 is more of a disk hog, so a SSD is a must there.

Probably, as long as the image is intact and in a format Windows can read (ISO preferably), as it only shows the bootcamp part of the DVD when used in Windows usually.

Oh, yeah, you can do that. Wouldn't recommend WiFi though as these things only have wireless G, capped at 54Mbps. File transfers are limited in practice to about 2MB/s which is a bit painful. They do have Gigabit ethernet though.
