What should I pair with my Intel i3-2100, a GT-1030 OR GTX-1050?

a new PSU (CX 550 (2017) from corsair)

 

and a used R9 290x.

I agree with @GoldenLag, a used 290x has almost double the preformance of a 1050 at the same price (when you buy 290x used). The CPU might be bottlenecking it, but nothing to major.
