Hi guys, I got a really weird issue with new adaptive sync feature of Nvidia. I got Philips 246E9QJAB + secondary monitor connected via DVI and GTX 1060. It works most time alright, but sometimes it just completely destroys the picture (hard to describe it just all weirdly flows a bit like on analogue TV in films when something bad is about to happen).

It only occurs on startup or not at all. Strangely enough, it occurs only in some games (for instance Destiny 2) but never in others (GTA V, CS:GO). What is IMO weirdest is that restart (of a game) never fixes it, but when I turn on some game that is always working fine and then relaunch game that doesn't work correctly it´s OK. Since it occurs only in some games it makes me think that it´s just SW and not HW issue. If needed I could provide video when it occurs.

Is there anyone who has a similar problem?

I tried: DDU, set prefer maximum performance, many restarts

Rest of system: Ryzen 1200 (OC @4GHz), ADATA XPG 8GB DDR4 3000MHz CL16 GAMMIX D10 (XMP profile, via DOCP), ASUS PRIME B450M-K (latest BIOS), Corsair CX450

Edit: I forgot to mention OC on GPU, but I never had any other issues.

It could be that some games are using features of the GPU that others aren't that are causing this issue, still an odd failure.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've had a similar issue and here's how to avoid it. #1 Try forcing V-Sync to ALWAYS be on regardless of the application settings via control panel. #2 If you have a game that glitches out when you try to use G-Sync then turn G-Sync off, reboot and enable V sync. If there's an option for Adaptive under V sync then select that. #3 Mess around with the downscaling settings in the control panel. For instance, if your downscaling is locked at x4 and you have a 1080p display then the game gets played at 4k but downscaled to 1080p. You might have to lower it or turn it off completely. Hope this helps you.

Your suggestions look very good. I tried #1, #2 I got Vsync in all games turned on already, #3 I don´t use downscaling 1060 is barely enough for 1080p, I use "no scaling". Hopefully it works out I got no issues right now, but as I said it´s quite random and unfortunetely I don´t have whole evening to play around with it.

Yeah I know, I´m using it. In fact Nvidia doesn´t even show you option to turn it on with HDMI (AMD can do it though).

Yeeup I know what you mean. For me it worked with nothing out of the box from what I remember. Didn't like DOOM, CSGO, Just Cause 4 and I'm not going to even try it with Assassins Creed Odyssey because I have all the settings cranked to max with an i5 OC'd to 5.2 ghz, and a 1070 pushing 2100 mhz OC and I get 60 FPS average.

Unfortunately it hasn´t worked out for me, but turning frequency from 75 Hz to 74 Hz work for me now, so I guess until I get glitches I´ll be happy. If you got any other ideas feel free to post them anyway as they might be useful for others.

Edit: Well, that didn´t work either,
