so I am currently upgrading my first  gaming pc? I currently have a ryzen 5 1400 cpu and a gtx1050 with 16gb ddr4 ram.. now I am wondering I'll have some birthday cash March1st and I can't figure out if I should be doing a gpu upgrade or a cpu upgrade first? Which would I honestly benefit most from????

Depends on what you're looking at for a budget. What power supply do you have? How fast is your ram? Do you have 2 sticks?

im really new to pc gaming( i've been a console gamer) so im not to sure what to do to get to that point? like do I use certain software ? any help is really usefull!

You can open Task Manager (ctrl+alt+del, ctrl+shift+esc, right click on taskbar) and go to the Performance tab. Then fire up a game and see what the usage % on CPU, GPU, and RAM are.

But upgrading your machine is only necessary if it is yielding undesirable results (not achieving the framerate you want at the resolution and settings you want in the games you play).
