I won't use that in any system (unless it's for my enemy), and definitely not a good idea to upgrade hardware with that.

my recommended upgrade

I assume you're using a single 8gb stick here so you have room for another one. If you want to save money or the board can't hold more sticks, buy used or omit it.

thanks but two questions/concerns

1. is the 550W good enough to not have to be upgraded in the future if i change a component?

2. is a gpu worth it if only have a 60hz monitor and already get 90-120 frames on the games i play?

enough to support Ryzen 5 2600 and 2080ti at stock and other components

if you're games are that easy to run, get a high refresh rate 1080p Freesync monitor is a good idea (Nvidia supports adaptive sync function on 417.71 driver with DisplayPort output). They are kinda expensive which means you need to give up upgrading the memory, but that's nore than worth it.

This one isnt the cheapest, but as one of the newer TN panel monitors it does better in colour reproduction and supports 144Hz through DP rather than the slowly phased out DVI

What about keeping mobo and getting used i5 6500 185 off amazon used and rx580 for 200?

Its bullshit because Ryzen is so cheap.

And as you stated, its like 200€ or so.

Ryzen is almost half of that, the 1600 is like 130€ or so, + decent Board and we're talking of about the same price as the Intel.

Ergo makes no sense to invest even one penny in that plattform.

But he could sell it and make like 50-70€ or so.

The RX580 is a decent idea, though an RX570 with 8GiB is also not the worst idea.

They are a bit cheaper, but tbh, for the like 20€ difference, I'd rather go for the 580 as well.

Condolences.

That's not a particularly good PSU.

A good one would be Bitfenix Formula, Whisper M, be quiet Straight Power 11.

450 or 550W, depending on price.

I have $450 CAD to spend on upgrading my PC or monitor/peripherals. What should I spend my money on?

suggestions:

ryzen 5 2600 + gigabyte b450m ds3h mobo: $385

used asus GTX 1070 turbo: $350

The GPU makes little sense with a dual Core CPU. Thats just a waste of money.

So the best solution would be to get the Ryzen Board + CPU and sell the CPU + Board you have.

After that you get an RX570 or 580 (depending on price), with 8GiB RAM and sell the GPU you have.

Your GPU might sell for like 75-100€ or so.

Current Specs (budget build):

CPU: Intel Pentium G4560

Mobo: AsRock H110M-HDS

GPU: GTX 1050 2GB OC
RAM: 8GB 2133 G.Skill Aegis

HDD: 7.2K RPM 1TB

PSU: 400W

Monitor: 60hz BenQ 5ms

No SSD??
That's the first thing you should do. With 60€ a 250GB should be able, possibly a 500GB. ANd that's highly recommended!

Oh snap.

Don't buy anything until you buy a replacement for that boat anchor.  Holy crap.
