Hello

My brother bought a RTX 2060 and i could have his old msi r9 290x, that still worked in his pc

However i used DDU and put in the card, and i get no signal over hdmi.

I tried my old msi r9 280 and that still works.

i have a basic motherboard with a i7 2600 and 8 gb ram, however it has no video ouput.

and 750 watt psu.

Does anyone know how i can get it to work.

try some diffrent outputs? maybe you used a diffrent one too what your brother used and that port is broken or something

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Does the computer boot up and continue running without a signal, or does that computer shut off? I'd make sure that the card is well seated in the slot.. taking it out, and pushing back into the slot, and of course the pcie power cables should be seated with a click. If you have a video output from your motherboard, I would try to install the drivers for the 290x and see if that makes a difference.

yes it keeps running, everything is well connected and the fans are turning.

unfortunately my motherboard has no video output.

He indeed used DP, however my monitor does not have that, it only has hdmi and dvi-d which i dont have a cable off.
