Over the past couple of years, I have been using the VXI TalkPro USB headset for Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  I'm wondering if there is a better desktop solution.  This will allow me to just use my headphones for audio, so I can still use a mic if I need to VoIP or dictate speech.  I don't know much about microphones, but I know different ones are better for different applications.

A zalman clip on? Maybe snowflake? Dragon doesn't really need HQ mic to work

It will work with a lower quality mic.  It may just not work very well.  I want it to be as accurate as possible.  I sometimes already have to correct mistakes because I do not enunciate my words very well all of the time.

It worked perfectly fine for me with even a 3$ mic. The zalman one will cut it, but if you want to be extra sure just go ahead and pick up the snow flake. It won't sound cancelling features but it should have noise reduction.

Aye, that and your software.

Okay.  That might actually work better then because of my disability.  Trying to turn knobs and flip switches is difficult because I don't have much fine motor coordination.

Same with the Snowflake, so get either, both are solid options.

I might go with the Snowball mic.  It's only $50 USD on Amazon.  The pictures show the people a normal distance away from the mic, but one video reviewer on Amazon said he got the best quality when the mic was only a couple inches away.  I wonder if this is just because of his volume settings or what.  Being a cardioid mic, I understand the need to be in front of it, but is it necessary to be practically kissing it (for lack of a better term)?  LMAO!  :)
