Ryzen overclock

I have an Asus A320m-K motherboard and it does not have any overclock feature. But I overclocked it to 3.85ghz from 3.5ghz using Asus EZ tool. How is this possible?

A series boards do not allow for overclocking, only B and X series boards.

Windows doenst always report correctly. The CPUZ is way more trustworthy than windows. The max boost of the 2200g is 3.7ghz.

So in short, its not overclocked. Just fake info on windows right?

Correct. Windows almost always reports things wrong.

Yup Winblows is notorious for that.

For me it fluctuates in taskman Like 4Ghz then 4.2 then 3.9 ….. Sad how MS can't get this right its not rocket science sheeez!!!

I don't think it's correct to say it reports things wrong, because if the value changes depending on what the settings are, then it must be deriving the final value from something about the system.

 

I mean, where do you think it's getting this number from? The other utilities are simply pinging what BCLK and the current multiplier is and while that's great for getting a reading at the moment, the places where you see reported clock speed that does not update constantly on Windows is polling it once and calling it done.

Dude, your voltage is way to high ? 1.36v ….. Im not a AMD guy so I may be wrong.

It changes automatically. Now its on 0.981v. Maybe I messed up my pc with this Asus ez tool.

Also the clock speed Windows reports on System properties and Task Manager (the "Maximum Speed") field appears to be the base clock speed. I've never seen a report that uses the turbo boost speed.

That's normal. Voltage changes depending on load and/or clock speed at the time.

Hey Princess Cadence, Im not a AMD guy so I don't know but AMD doesn't have something like speedstep right ?  That is all I can think of at this moment.

My issue is already solved (windows giving me fake info on CPU frequency). I'm new on this forum so I'll try my best to keep up with the subject. Thanks for your help.
