Asus 43" price?

Rdpruitt

you got money to burn or something?

well... it seems to lack gsync, so it will be a little bit worse. Its mostly something personal here

Well I just upgraded my rig and I was looking for a good monitor. Right now I'm using a 43" TV 1080p and I love the size. So when this 4k 120 was announced AND Nvidia supporting Freesync, i immediately thought it looked perfect.

And did you mean a bit worse in price or that Freesync is worse than G-Sync?

Well it 'shouldnt' cost much, being that its likely using a regular 43" VA panal used in many 43" TV's and other 43" Monitors.

That said, its ROG, so your going to be paying for the name for sure.

Given 43" VA Tv's cost around £350-£400, and 43" IPS monitors cost around £500-£600;

add in some 120hz processing, ROG 'features' and 'styling' ..the Asus and ROG badge tax ...probably ~£1000. It 'shouldnt' cost that much ..but it will.

not in price... It's just that there is a ROG 4k 120 hertz monitor with gsync with a way too high price. It's just that gsync is better on it's own, but way more expensive. and knowing those moduals cost you a extra 100-200 dollars, you still won't get a cheap monitor if it's like that one

Are there other 43 inch 4k 120hz HDR? besides the wasabi mango UHD430?

The UHD430 isn't color accurate enough for me and doesn't have Freesync or G-Sync.

What do you guys think the price of this will be?

https://rog.asus.com/articles/gaming-monitors/the-43-rog-strix-xg438q-does-big-screen-gaming-with-freesync-hdr-2-at-4k-and-120hz/

It is 43 inches, 4k 120hz, HDR 600, and Freesync 2.

Will it be more than the 27 inch 4k 144hz G-sync one? The pg27uq.

It is going to cost 3000 dollars.  TV's don't even have 120hz @ 4k, instead they use motion technologies and what not.  So ya you will need to sell your kidney and an arm and leg to get this beast monitor.  Too bad it isn't 144hz refresh lol, Im getting greedy. lol

2080Ti SLI might, but no guarantees LOL

Well, a single 2080 ti struggles to get Monster hunter world at 60 on 4k ultra. There are of course some useless stuff that can be turned off like motion blur *gag*

We want max settings in nvidia panel, all AA and AF and all that good stuff, all set to on or max high quality etc... In game ultra and I get 60fps that never drops.  The only thing left to do is get a 144hz monitor along with a 2070 RTX...…  Who has 2080Ti SLI ?  They can give us more info..... I mean if a single 2080Ti can do 60fps without dips then your right a SLI won't cut the rug... as it will be like 100fps no where near 144hz and what not.

I think right now where we are at in technology the best thing is to play @ 1440p with nvpanel maxed out and game maxed out and get 144hz that hardly dips.

Yeah I agree. 1440p is the sweet spot with todays hardware, but I need a 4k panel for photo editing.

You could go to nvpanel and turn on DSR, then choose a 4k resolution or whatever you want.  The fonts will be fuked up looking but for games and photo editing its excellent.  :)

Ok. Thanks. Even if I'm not getting the 43", I'm probably going to wait for spring to buy a new monitor anyway.

Thanks again for all the info. But I have one question that I asked in another thread that was never answered. Can Freesync be used with display port 1.4 DSC ? And how exactly does the DSC work? Is the compression always on or is there a way to activate it? If the graphics card and monitor support DSC, is it on by default? It can't be used with G-Sync monitors because the module dosent support it.

I want to know because without DSC, Displayport can't do 4k/120hz/10-bit/4:4:4. It will max out at 98hz with HDR on.
