I would go for a little more wattage in terms of the power supply, and I can recommend the 840 Evo as an SSD.

why? .... It is MUCH more than enough ....

______

why the RE4 HDD?

also twice as expensive as consumer versions though ...

If he has money and wants as good as it gets then why not? Although RAID 0 x2 WD Blue might be better performance and double the capacity; although that also means more power use and twice as likely failure.

This thread should be in New build and planing sub forum, unless you have photos of your progress.

may I suggest a little change in the hdd/ssd configuration? I would go for a bigger ssd (180-240 or so), in order to make a 30 GB partition to use as cache for two bigger hdds (for example 2 WD red 2GB intellipower) in raid 1, so you'll have room for storage, softwares AND backup (1GB won't be enough for everything) and a lot of performance as well with the ssd cache. it's gonna cost a little bit more but you'll be super safe, super fast and super full of space from the beginning, and you won't regret that in the future, because it's always problematic to upgrade the harddrives or change configuration.

My Rig:

Case: Cooler Master CM II 690 Advanced USB3; Motherboard: Asus P8z77-v; Processor: i5 3550 3.3 GHz - 3.7GHz, oc @ 3.9-4.1 GHz; Graphic cards: two XFX 7850 black edition oc @ 1 GHz;

Ram: Corsair Vengance Red 2x4 GB 1600 MHz CL8; Heatsink: Noctua NH-U9B; Power supply: Corsair HX750 W 80 Plus Gold; Storage: SSD Vertex 3 120 GB +2 HDD Wester Digital 1 TB

It's one of the best performing mechanical HDD's

Well... On why I chose to get RE4 2TB is that I can import a legit one from China which is only USD$175 (After currency conversion) as compared to $220 if I get it locally. I think it is a very good deal considering that I can still RMA it locally if anything goes wrong.

That would set me back quite some budget. I have re-edited for my HDD to be 2TB and I have ext HDD for my own personal back ups. As for SSD, I only used it as a boot drive and I only put drivers in it, I suppose it is enough for SSD cache?

What store are you buying it, and doing the currency conversion and stuff? I'd be super happy if I can pick up one of these for my new rig.

I have someone to help me import it through TaoBao. Currency conversion is RMB(Chinese Dollars) -> SGD (Singapore Dollars) -> USD (US Dollars) with commission charged by my friend.
